Destination Addiction

“Beware of Destination Addiction- a preoccupation with the idea that happiness is in the next place, the next job, and with the next partner. Until you give up the idea that happiness is somewhere else, it will never be where you are” -Robert Holden

I, for one, had this mentality before. Thank God that I’ve learned to be content with the present and learn to be truly happy despite what ever circumstance life hits me with. I heard from church before that we are like arrows. The longer we are stretched, the further we go. If God allows us to go through many battles and hardships, it means that He’s preparing us for something so great. Those with great potential have to go through trials and pressure in order to become strong enough to accomplish greater things. So in every chapter in our lives, let us be happy. Everything we go through has a purpose and if we just keep looking toward the ‘happier future’, we’ll loose sight of the importance of our growth along the way.
